The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail ride from Yarraman to Wulkuraka is a 161km off-road adventure trail for walkers, cyclists, and horse riders. It follows the former Brisbane Valley railway line through diverse rural landscapes, passing through historic towns and heritage sites. The trail is generally gentle, with a slight downhill gradient if heading south-east from Yarraman to Wulkuraka. It's considered an "adventure" trail with some challenging sections and rough terrain especially when riding uphill from Wulkuraka to Yarraman.
Towns along the trail (from west to east):Yarraman is the trail head; Blackbutt, with the famous Bakery; Linville, with a great pub and general store and great accommodation; Moore, has a lovely historic BnB; Toogoolawah and Esk both have great accommodation and food and beverage options, as does Coominya, Lowood, and Fernvale. Wulkuraka is the end of the trail and shuttle pickup point.
The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail ride from Yarraman to Moore is 48km. Only 41km if you stop at Linville. It follows the former railway line, offering cyclists a chance to explore the region's natural beauty and history. The trail surface is primarily compacted gravel and dirt, with some rougher sections and rocky areas, particularly between Yarraman and Linville. The section from Benarkin to Linville includes a gradual downhill ride through the Blackbutt Range and some moderately steep creek crossings.
The Blackbutt to Linville section (44 km return) and Blackbutt to Yarraman (38km return) are great options for out and back day rides. These two sections are amongst the favourites for the majority of riders.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail ride from Moore to Esk (45km) offers a mix of flat and slightly undulating terrain, passing through rural landscapes and small towns. The trail is primarily a gravel surface. It's generally considered an adventure trail with some challenging sections, especially near road crossings and where rail bridges have been removed.
The Esk to Wulkuraka section covers approximately 67 km and generally features a gentle gradient, making it suitable for various fitness levels.
The trail winds through a variety of landscapes, including farmland, forests, and rural settings. You'll pass through towns like Lowood and Fernvale, offering opportunities for rest and refreshments.
While most of the trail is well-maintained gravel, some sections may be rougher.
